Eclipse Scientific has introduced a practical solution for performing crack detection, and monitoring inspection of bolts.  The Wheel Encoded Bolt Scanner (WEBSCAN) allows you to determine the extent of corrosion and to identify cracking without removing the bolt.

Eclipse Scientific works with service companies and in-house inspection divisions to provide all the support required to ensure the effective and profitable execution of the inspection. Purchasing, or development and fabrication of the inspection device is no guarantee that the product will provide the desired results. By ensuring successful delivery of the inspection, and by including training, procedures and techniques, we work to achieve the real objectives, delivery of results and effective reporting of the findings.

The solution package comes with a comprehensive user’s guide and supporting material. Development of the performance demonstration samples, structured training and effective refresher PowerPoint material helps ensure autonomy once the equipment is on the plant floor or at the remote construction/production site. Successful implementation of the developed solution takes more planning but the rewards can justify the extra effort. Profitability and the benefits of modern technology through automation and innovation need to be considered at the start of the program.

  • Fast and easy to use
  • Displays cracking and corrosion
  • Defect images are clear and easy to interpret
  • Three sizes available
  • Fastens directly to thread, bolt head or nut

The WEBSCAN inspection system has an upper probe housing which clamps the probe into place and allows it to be adjusted up and down to reach studs above or below the nut surface.  It can also be adjusted back and forth on the bolt head surface to achieve optimum scanning position.  Adjustable spring mounting ensures that the probe contacts the bolt with an even force over the surface, and protective wear-face plates ensure that the probe does not suffer abrasion damage.

Special order housings can be made to accommodate any bolt or probe.  A complete solution, including procedure, technique and step-by-step instructions, is also available to ensure that the job is completed in the shortest possible time and with the greatest amount of accuracy and repeatability.

Available in three sizes with selected probes to ensure optimum performance when scanning any bolt.
