103 - Phased Array and TOFD Applications

The OmniScan Phased Array and TOFD Applications course provides the knowledge required to effectively examine a variety of materials and components. Our hands-on approach to practical exercises is complemented by access to a selection of engineered and actual flaw samples. The TOFD capabilities of the OmniScan will be examined in detail, with emphasis on technique development and ASME code case 2235 implementation. We recommend that attendees have attained Level 2 or 3 certification in industrial ultrasonics and have a working knowledge of the OmniScan instrument prior to attending this course.

104 - Phased Array Advanced User

The Phased Array Advanced User course will empower the technician to address problematic applications.  The course is designed to convey inspection and analysis solutions to common and several unique applications.

105 - ASME Code Compliant Phased Array Weld Inspection

This five day course covers interpretation of the codes and enables the replacement of radiography with ultrasonic phased array inspection. Technicians will develop ASME phased array ultrasonic weld inspection procedures and techniques.

108 - ISO/CGSB 9712/ SNT-TC-1A Level 1 UT

Eclipse Scientific provides training which meets or exceeds the requirements listed by NRCan for certification training to ISO/CGSB and SNT-TC-1A standards. The Eclipse three technique approach to learning is used to present, demonstrate and promote practical application. Designated calibration blocks are featured to demon- strate Instrument calibration in accordance with ASTM E317. Scan plan concepts are introduced and practical inspection of engineer- ing materials of various configurations is conducted. Level 1 personnel are defined as personnel who will carry out industrial ultrasonic nondestructive inspection under the supervi- sion of Level 2 or Level 3 personnel and will not be responsible for the ultrasonic current test method or technique to be used, nor for the assessment of test results. Registrants must have successfully completed a Level 1 Ultrasonic course in accordance with CGSB or SNT-TC-1A, and satisfy the math/emc prerequisite

109 – Level 2 Ultrasonic Technician Training

Eclipse maintains the quality of education to advance ISO/CGSB Level 1 to the advanced Level 2 certification status with scan plan, written instruction preparation and Immersion techniques presented and practiced. Flaw characterization and reporting is examined in detail. Level 2 personnel are defined as personnel who will perform and/ or direct industrial ultrasonic inspection according to established or recognized procedures and shall be responsible for the ultrasonic test method or technique to be used and for the interpretation of the test results. Registrants must have successfully completed a Level 1 Ultrasonic course in accordance with CGSB or SNT-TC-1A, and satisfy the math prerequisite.

113 - Introduction to Phased Array & OmniScan UT and Phased Array

This five day course is designed to introduce engineers, managers, and inspectors to the principles of ultrasonic phased arrays. The course details the history of industrial phased arrays, the principles of phased arrays and digital instruments, an introduction to the Olympus OmniScan portable phased array unit, and several sample applications. The attendees will work through hands-on exercises illustrating the capabilities and imaging of phased arrays from prepared application files; some individual set-ups may be possible. Typically, two attendees will share the use of an OmniScan unit. We recommend that participants be well versed in standard industrial ultrasonic theory in order to gain the maximum benefit from the course material.

122 - ESBeamTool Advanced Technique Development

The course content is designed to promote inspection visualization, while meeting the ASME code requirements for weld inspection scan plan essential variables. The participant is quickly armed with a full CAD drawing package system to develop inspection part configuration conveying assurances of beam coverage. Designed for conventional and AUT inspection procedures alike. 

126A - TomoView Operation

This course replaces 126 - TomoView Power User and is designed for attendees who have Level 2 or 3 UT certification, and, who are required to perform data analysis or tasked with procedure and technique development. The condensed course content is designed to familiarize the operator with the many basic functions and will help initiate basic navigation skills based on practical application. The graduate of this course will be capable of analyzing, solving and reporting findings for those problematic NDT/NDE applications.

130 - AGR TD Phased Array

This overview course is designed to impart the underlying physics principles of phased array, as well as hardware and software instrument operation, to ensure that quality performance of inspection is achieved. Theory related to phased array, engineering principles, and code requirements, are introduced and examined.

131 - AGR TD Phased Array & TOFD

The AGR TD Phased Array and TOFD course provides the knowledge required to effectively examine a variety of materials and components. Our hands-on approach to practical exercises is complemented by access to a selection of engineered and actual flaw samples. The TOFD capabilities of the AGR instrument will be examined in detail, with emphasis on technique development and ASME code case 2235 implementation. We recommend that attendees have attained Level 2 or 3 certification in industrial ultrasonics and have a working knowledge of the AGR instrument prior to attending this course.

138A - Ultravision Operation

Ultravision NDT software inspection software stands alone as a pinnacle of performance. Participants are privy to demonstration and facilitator instructed exercises including laptop computers. Numerous instruments can be combined through LAN connection to form an effective acquisition and motion control device. This course content is designed to familiarize the operator with the many basic functions and will help initiate basic navigation skill based on practical application. The Ultravision Operation course is a pre-requisite to the Ultravision Application specific course content.

139 - Sonatest VEO Phased Array

The Sonatest VEO Ultrasonic and Phased Array course is designed to introduce industrial UT practitioners to the principles of ultrasonic phased arrays and operation/navigation of the newest Sonatest Portable Phased Array instrument, the VEO.  The course is paced to provide a challenge for experienced technicians while emphasizing fundamentals of operation and standard practices for all attendees.  We recommend Level 2 or 3 certification in industrial ultrasonic’s prior to attending this course.

140 - Sonatest VEO Phased Array & TOFD

The Sonatest VEO Ultrasonic and Phased Array course is designed to introduce industrial UT practitioners to the principles of ultrasonic phased arrays and TOFD operation/navigation of the newest Sonatest Portable Phased Array instrument, the VEO.  The course is paced to provide a challenge for experienced technicians while emphasizing fundamentals of operation and standard practices for all attendees.  We recommend Level 2 or 3 certification in industrial ultrasonic’s prior to attending this course.

142 - Zetec Zircon Phased Array & TOFD

The Zetec Zircon Phased Array and TOFD course enables students to recognize the full potential achieved using both PA and TOFD methods. Practical exercises access a selection of engineered and actual flaw samples. The PA and TOFD capabilities of the Zircon instrument will be examined in detail, with emphasis on technique development and ASME code case 2235 implementation. We recommend that attendees have attained Level 2 or 3 certification in industrial ultrasonics and have a working knowledge of the Zetec UltraVision software/instrument prior to attending this course.

150 - Level 1 Eddy Current Technician Training

Eclipse takes NDE training very seriously. The importance of the foundation training for the eddy current (ET) technician's career begins with Level 1 ET. This training course provides the strong fundamentals required for the student to be able to perform ET inspections and write ET techniques and procedures under the supervision of ET Level 2 and 3 qualified personnel. The Eclipse Level 1 course sets the stage for the student to be able to confidently move on to ET Level 2 and Level 3. Your ET knowledge begins with solid fundamental background theory training required for the understanding of the concepts of the ET inspection process. This fundamental theory is further supplemented with instruction on properties and use of surface probes, and the testing of tubes and cylindrical parts. Flaw samples and a wide range of NDT instrumentation ensure a wide knowledge base. Eclipse workstation setups, numerous practical fixtures, encoding devices and NDT tools for a variety of inspection applications, expose students to what they might encounter on a job. This program meets the requirement of CAN/CGSB-49-9712, ISO 9712 and SNT-TC-1A.

151 - Level 2 Eddy Current Technician Training

The Eclipse ET Level 2 course continues to build on the strong fundamentals gained from our ET Level 1 course. PowerPoint presentations, handout material, exercises and examinations are all part of the training program. More complicated solutions are required of the student in order to solve the more difficult flaw samples they will encounter in the ET Level 2 practical workshops. A wide range of NDT instrumentation ensures an exposure to different inspection instruments currently used in our industry. Eclipse workstation setups, numerous practical fixtures, encoding devices and NDT tools for a variety of inspection applications, expose students to what they might encounter on a job. This program meets the requirement of CAN/CGSB-49-9712, ISO 9712 and SNT-TC-1A. Registrants must have successfully completed a Level 1 Eddy Current course in accordance with CGSB or SNT-TC-1A, and satisfy the math prerequisite.

152 - Eddy Current Array Technology

The Introduction to Eddy Current Arrays Technology course is designed to introduce industrial ET practitioners and engineers to the principles of Eddy Current arrays and the operation and navigation of the Eddyfi Ectane ET instrument and Magnifi software. The course is paced to provide a challenge for experienced technicians while emphasizing fundamentals of operation and standard practices for all attendees. We recommend that attendees have attained Level 2 or 3 certification in eddy current prior to attending this course.
